NEW uses for Botox, including pain relief and the treatment of migraine, arthritis and over active bladder are to be developed as part of a big project in Dublin City University (DCU).

College to research alternative uses for Botox

The college’s International Centre for Neurotherapeutics has been awarded a grant of €12.5 million by the Government to design a new range of revolutionary drug treatments.

These will include treatments for conditions that affect muscles, including brain and spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy.
