A CIRCUIT court injunction is being sought to remove a large group of Travellers from a blue flag beach area at Rossbeigh, just off the Ring of Kerry.

Upwards of 25 caravans and camper vans, some with British registrations, have created a temporary, unofficial halting site on Kerry County Council property less than 100m from the popular beach.

The council’s director of services for housing, John Breen, yesterday confirmed an injunction was being sought. He said it was “hoped to have a court sitting at which our application for an injunction can be heard” tomorrow.
