THE small road in north Cork where David Brett’s body was found was regularly used by strangers to carry out drug deals, according to locals.

Tim Howard, who lives not far from the scene off Tower Road, 7km from the village of Ballydesmond, described how he and the other residents would often see unknown cars in the area around the primary school when it was closed at night.

“This is a central point for them, a mark where they wait to collect their drugs,” he said. “You have unexplained vehicles here at all hours. We are tired of telling gardaí they should be driving round here more often.”
