Gardaí must work with ombudsman: Conroy

GARDA chief Noel Conroy yesterday warned officers they faced arrest if they did not co-operate with the garda ombudsman.

The Garda Commissioner said there would be arrests if members did “their own thing” in their dealings with the watchdog body.

The Garda Ombudsman Commission, which has the same powers as the force, including arrest, is due to begin its work on May 9.
