CATHOLIC primate Archbishop Sean Brady has urged continued efforts to cement peace in the North during what he predicted would be challenging times ahead.

Taking his cue from the historic power-sharing deal reached in Belfast a fortnight ago, and the landmark handshake between Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and First Minister designate Ian Paisley this week, Dr Brady said people both sides of the island had a particular reason to rejoice this Easter.

“In a succession of images many never thought possible, we have caught a glimpse of God’s ability to make all things new,” he said in his Easter message.
