THE Dáil broke for a two-week Easter holiday yesterday amid Opposition claims that the Government was putting its own interests ahead of the State’s.

TDs will not return until Tuesday, April 24, but Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny said the Dáil should resume a week earlier to discuss crucial legislation.

Echoing those comments, Labour leader Pat Rabbitte said 24 bills had been promised for the current session but only half of them had been published.
