POLITICIANS of all parties have been accused of using public servants as easy targets for public service provision deficiencies which are actually down to failures in Government policy or a lack of adequate resources.

However, now the country’s 250,000 public servants are being encouraged by their union, IMPACT, to seize the opportunity to set the record straight by grilling politicians who come to their door seeking their vote in the upcoming general election.

“There is now a tendency among politicians of all parties to repeat and exploit the same myths about our public servants,” said IMPACT General Secretary Peter McLoone.
