Bebo battles to curb online abuse

SOCIAL networking website Bebo is working to prevent abuse of its system, to which bogus and inflammatory profiles of politicians have been posted.

The company said it interpreted hateful language “as a form of violence” and deleted such content.

Bebo allows members post their profiles on their own individual web pages on the site. Members can then send fellow users messages, photos and other information.
