Sticky issue: gum biggest source of street litter

LIMERICK city streets are getting all gummed up.

Chewing gum is now the single biggest source of street litter, according to figures released by Limerick City Council.

Of the 12,000 documented litter incidents last year, up to 10,000 were attributed to chewing gum deposits on footpaths around the city.
