IRISH trade with Iran is soaring despite the US requesting EU member states to limit their involvement with the country.

Exports to Iran increase by 26%

Statistics for the first 10 months of 2006 showed that exports to Iran rose by 26% compared with the same period the previous year.

From January to October 2006, €19.5 million worth of products, such as food, chemicals and machinery, was sent to Iran, compared with €15.5m in the same period in 2005.
