HOW timely for Tony Killeen that the nation’s jail population will be able to vote for the first time at the next General Election as his disturbing attempts to secure the early release of a paedophile and a murderer mean he’s going to need all the support he can get.

It would hardly come as a surprise if the Labour Affairs Minister topped the prison poll, despite his increasingly unseemly efforts to pass the blame after achieving an unfortunate reputation as the convicts’ champion.

Of course, it’s not Mr Killeen’s fault letters sent in his name pleading the cases of a child rapist and a killer flowed forth from his office. No, it was the little people he employed.
