Thousands of health workers to be balloted on strike action

IMPACT is to ballot 25,000 health workers in the coming days on strike action over staff cuts.

If successful the disruptive action could start as soon as mid-March.

The union said the staff cuts are damaging services and preventing reforms. It added: “The Health Service Executive’s (HSE) establishment of a national monitoring unit has denied local management any authority to replace staff who resign or take maternity leave, even on a temporary basis.”
