ONLINE auction giant eBay yesterday announced a host of measures to protect Irish users amid rising fraud among sellers on the internet.

The retail service revealed a raft of new rules due to members of the online shopping group having “bad experiences”.

In a statement to users, its head of trust and safety in Ireland and the UK Garreth Griffith said: “As eBay has grown, we’ve seen an increase in the bad experiences members face due to two factors: increased fraud across the internet and a very small proportion of sellers who fail to deliver a positive buyer experience,” he said.
