Energy supply security key to economy

THE Government hopes investment of €8.5 billion over the next seven years will deliver “competitively priced” energy to keep the economy growing.

Ensuring security of energy supply will be the key factor in this, according to the NDP.

Annual demand for electricity is expected to grow by 3.1% and demand for gas by 6.5% over the lifetime of the plan.
