SF motion to call for PSNI support

SINN Féin president Gerry Adams last night insisted the motion he plans to put to the party’s special ard fheis will call for full co-operation with the PSNI from republicans.

The historic move came as intensive consultations with grassroots members began ahead of the gathering, following Sinn Féin’s Ard Comhairle voting in favour of convening the conference in Dublin on January 28.

In the run-up, the party will hold a series of meetings, both in public and private, and Mr Adams said the consultation would include what he called “victims of bad policing and patriots”.
