EMERGENCY services mounted an unusual rescue in Limerick city centre yesterday after a motorist got caught in a lunchtime traffic sandwich.

The woman motorist was unable to get out of her Micra after it became wedged between a parked bus and a truck.

Firemen and gardaí could not get the woman out of the car as the doors were pinned, on either side, by the bus and lorry.
