Developer’s son ‘unaware’ of political dealings

PROPERTY boss Paul Monahan yesterday described the secretive nature of his father, the late Phil Monahan, who kept him in the dark over how he ran his business — and his contacts with politicians.

“My father was an extremely private man,” Paul Monahan explained to the Mahon Tribunal. “It was not his practice to discuss his business dealings with members of his family — or any dealings he had with politicians.

“Such reticence would come as no surprise to anyone who knew my father,” said Mr Monahan.
