Students warned Leaving Cert points race ‘not over’

STUDENTS preparing for the Leaving Certificate have been advised that reports of the points race for college being over are not entirely true.

The warning came from the Higher Education Authority (HEA) as it reported that the number of college students has passed the 170,000 mark for the first time.

The figure includes full and part-time students in higher education, of which 80,000 are enrolled in HEA-funded universities, colleges of education and the National College of Art and Design.
