A SENIOR Ryanair executive told a group of Cork TDs and senators yesterday that the airline may have to reduce its services from Cork Airport because of high landing charges.

Michael Cawley, Ryanair’s deputy chief executive, met the group of eight politicians drawn from all parties in Leinster House yesterday morning.

According to the meeting coordinator, Fine Gael TD Bernard Allen, Mr Cawley acknowledged that until such time a decision was made on Cork Airport’s independence — and its debt issue — its hands were tied in relation to negotiations with Ryanair.
