Bord Gáis reviewing tariff rates after exposé

BORD Gáis is to look again at the different rates consumers pay for gas after the Irish Examiner revealed customers were paying up to 30% more than they should.

Most of Bord Gáis’s 500,000 household customers are on standard rates but they could save €150-a-year if they switch to little-known price-bands for low or high users.

Now Bord Gáis is in talks with the Government’s energy regulator to reform its five price bands — known as tariffs — to help consumers save money on their bills.
