Inexperienced staff carrying out nursing home checks: HSE

INEXPERIENCED staff are carrying out nursing home checks and signing off on inspections, according to an unpublished HSE report.

According to the study by a group of experts, inspection teams have been given “little or no formal training” for the job.

The report caused fury among health lobby groups and TDs yesterday, coming in the wake of a damning dossier on the controversial Leas Cross nursing home.
