A TEN-month boycott of a new halting site in Limerick by a number of Traveller families ended yesterday when they moved into the €2 million facility.

The families refused to leave an old ‘temporary’ site nearby where they have been living for the past 15 years, because stables had not been built on the new site for their horses.

Work on the construction of the site was completed last January and since then Limerick County Council have had to engage a security firm to protect the facility while it lay unoccupied.
