Just the trick for magician to earn TCD degree

TRINITY COLLEGE has got one back on Harry Potter filmmakers, who previously mimicked the designs of the university’s library, by handing out a rival degree to a student of magic.

Owen Lean, aged 23, stood side-by-side with his fellow Arts’ students yesterday to claim the first BA of its kind for his efforts as a street magician on Dublin’s Grafton Street.

With the goodwill of his lecturers he turned his part-time enterprise as a performance artist into a full-time course of study writing his thesis on the theory and practice of street theatre.
