THE Government was urged last night to introduce measures in the December Budget to help kickstart the multi-billion redevelopment of Cork’s Docklands.

The sprawling 200-plus acre was declared an area of urban regeneration by the EU just over a week ago. But in its pre-budget submission Cork Chamber said this status will only be of benefit if specific budget measures designed to encourage regeneration in the docklands are introduced.
