A COLLEGE student who died in a road accident in Cork yesterday was the second student in his class to die on the roads this year.

Gardaí were last night still investigating the circumstances of the accident which claimed the life of Michael William Moroney, aged 19, from Coolishal, Ballyduff Upper, in Co Waterford.

The second-year chemical engineering student at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) died after he was struck by a van on the Model Farm Road just after 2am.
