411 drink-driving incidents in one week

THE Road Safety Authority (RSA) has said the latest figures from the gardaí, which show 411 drink-driving incidents took place in a one-week period in October, is proof that there are drivers who continue to disregard public safety.

But the RSA said the statistics are proof of garda commitment to making the roads safer and the ‘penny will drop’ soon on persistent offenders.

The garda figures show that between the October 9 and 15, 411 drink-driving incidents were recorded.
