MORE than 125 foreign nationals have been allowed stay in Ireland despite serving prison sentences for crimes committed here.

Another 25 have evaded deportation orders issued by the Department of Justice.

According to department figures, 662 non-EU nationals were released from Irish prisons between 2000 and May this year.
