FLEXIBILITY will be key to the success of resumed talks on a new consultants’ contract, the head of the Health Service Executive (HSE) insisted yesterday.

Professor Brendan Drumm said he was delighted that the Irish Hospital Consultants’ Association (IHCA) had voted at their annual meeting to re-enter talks with the HSE.

“I think we have all got to be flexible,” he told RTÉ yesterday. “We (the HSE) are going to have to give a little and the consultants are going to have to give a little,” said Prof Drumm.
