Dublin ticket system €13m over budget

AN integrated ticketing system (ITS) to be used across Dublin’s public transport network is already €13 million over budget and three years behind schedule.

With the original launch date of 2005 a distant memory, the Department of Transport is expecting a review committee to present new targets and a new budget to Minister Martin Cullen later this week.

The report by the comptroller and auditor general found the €42m budget for the integrated ticketing system had offered little value for money.
