Harney fallout: how PDs will choose their next leader

IF there is just a single candidate for the leadership of the PDs, that person will likely be elected unopposed.

If, however, several candidates put their names forward, the next leader will be determined by a vote involving every person who has been a member of the party for more than a year.

The so-called electorate will be arranged in colleges, or blocks, in accordance with the party’s constitution. TDs, senators and MEPs will form the first college.
