Luxury hotel closes pool after legionella bacteria discovery

A LUXURY four-star hotel in Donegal has been forced to close its pool after the bacteria which causes Legionnaires’ disease was detected in the water.

The Carlton Redcastle Hotel and Thalasso Spa in Moville has said it was advised last week that legionella bacteria levels in its Thalasso pool exceeded acceptable levels.

It said it was advised by the Health Service Executive (HSE) that it would have to close the pool.
