LOW testosterone may increase the risk of death in men over age 40, a new study reveals.

Researchers in the United States found that older men with relatively low testosterone had an 88% higher risk of death compared with men with normal levels of the hormone.

But the study, published in the latest issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine, can only conclude that low testosterone and increased mortality are linked, not how they are linked.
