IRISH men are soft but roguish, hate dealing with confrontation and would keep quiet if they saw a friend’s girlfriend with another man, according to a survey.

Despite preferring their friends to be loyal, honest and funny, just two in five men would tell their friends off for being badly dressed — and few want to hear personal criticism about themselves.

Men are also reluctant to chide their friends, with only two-in-five saying they would speak up if it was their mate’s turn to buy a round of drinks at the bar.
