Residents hit out at excavation

The residents of Inniskeen, near Carrickmacross, have claimed the work, which is described as a private development, poses a threat to the area.

The work has begun close to the old family residence of Patrick Kavanagh near the main Inniskeen/Carrickmacross Road, which was frequently visited in the past by the poet’s brother Dr Peter Kavanagh, prior to his death in the United States earlier this year.
