Bus Eireann gives green light for station

It will adjoin Colbert Station and the rail and bus facilities will be linked by a covered walkway.

A spokeswoman for Bus Éireann said: “It will provide a modern, accessible and fully integrated transport facility for Limerick.

“The project will also represent a substantial investment and a major upgrade of our infrastructure in Limerick.”

The new-two storey bus central will be connected to the other railway station by a covered glass walkway.

The existing bus yard will be turned into a car park and it is intended to landscape the front area which is now used as a car park.

An increased number of bus bays will be provided, allowing for the scheduling of more services in and out of the city.
