Defrocked priest plans Hitler stunt at World Cup final
In another of his bizarre protests, Kerry-born Horan will give religious readings while dancing a jig at the front of the Olympic Stadium as the football final kicks off on July 9.
It was not clear whether he will be wearing his trademark outfit of kilt and green waistcoat and beret.
The defrocked cleric will also carry controversial placards and posters claiming Adolf Hitler helped to fulfil the prophecies of the Bible.
Horan, who now lives in south London, said: “My purpose is to bring the message of the prophets and the nearness of the Second Coming.
“In a gentle way I’ll be saying that sport has become a religion, but there is no truth in it as it cannot explain life and offer hope for the future.”
Horan caused havoc at the British Grand Prix in 2003 when he ran out in front of a Formula One car and the following year he jumped from a crowd of spectators at the men’s marathon at the Athens Olympics.
He ran in front of the leader, Brazilian Vanderlei de Lima, pushing him into the crowd. Horan was given a 12-month suspended sentence and fined €3,000.
