Business leaders to raise funds in powerboat challenge

FOUR leading members of Dungarvan’s business community are preparing to undertake a 10-day charity challenge involving circumnavigating the Irish coastline in powerboats.

For several months the quartet, Maurice Kiely, Paddy Dwane, George Horsom, and Tom Shanley, have been preparing and planning for their challenge which will see them departing from Dungarvan harbour on Friday on a trip that will take them along the western seaboard, across the northern coastline, and finally down eastern side of the country returning to their home base in Dungarvan on Sunday week, July 9.

Each of them will be undertaking the challenge in their own powerboat which will be equipped with a first class VHF system. They are planning to travel in convoy for increased safety reasons.
