Unions recruitment initiative

TWO of Ireland’s largest unions, the ATGWU and SIPTU, have launched a joint initiative designed to increase union membership.

Announcing the initiative to coincide with May Day, the unions say it will focus on providing cooperation and support to improve the quality of the working environment for workers.

Both unions intend to provide increased resources to assist Irish and non-national workers to organise in trade unions under the umbrella of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
