You can still buy your H-Block Martyrs t-shirts and rebel song CDs and even a copy of 'Mad Dog - The rise and fall Johnny Adair and C Company', but some of the less politically correct memorabilia from the struggle are no longer on show at the Sinn Féin shop.

The cleansing of the Republican movement is afoot.

Speaking of the UDA and products you can't buy, you won't be finding any travel agents looking to set up shop at the Shinners annual gathering.

Motion 137 from the Pól Kinsella Cumann in Derry stated: "This Ard Fheis mandates the Ard Chomhairle to examine the feasibility of organising a boycott of Spanish goods and holidays in protest at the Spanish Government's failure to negotiate peace with the Basque people and the Spanish Government's violation of human rights."

The motion was kicked on for consideration at higher level.

As one of just two motions in the 'Youth' section, it's gratifying to see the party attracting growing support from young people is in touch with the vital issues on the ground.

Thankfully the other motion was a more admirable call for an increase in recreational facilities for young people and investment in the youth sector.
