Over €10m invested in pyramid-style scheme, say gardaí

GARDAÍ yesterday said over €10 million has been invested by people in west Cork and Kerry in a pyramid-style scheme.

Senior garda sources disclosed yesterday that while they still hadn’t received an official complaint they had been contacted by a significant number of people who are concerned about the scheme, which has its origins in Germany.

Meanwhile, Enterprise Minister Micheál Martin has said a review of the laws relating to pyramid selling is to be undertaken on foot of the case.
