A WORKER is being made unemployed every 15 minutes and the Government has to act now to prevent further job losses, opposition parties insisted last night.

In the last 28 days, 2,493 people have been made redundant, and it's predicted that thousands more jobs in manufacturing may be lost by the end of the year, the Labour Party said.

Fine Gael said the Government's anti-competitive policies and the employment costs imposed on businesses are a substantial contributor to job losses.
