Sinead’s extraordinary step in emotional plea to be ‘left alone’

SINGER Sinead O’Connor has taken out an extraordinary full-page advertisement in the national press in which she makes an emotional plea to be left alone.

“I have been the whipping post of Ireland’s media for 20 years,” she says in a statement, which runs to more than 2,000 words.

“I don’t think there can be any person, male or female, from this country who has been as consistently lashed as I have been and always am, no matter what I set out to do.”
