Curtin legal response

JUDGE Brian Curtin’s solicitors responded by letter to the Government’s request for observations on the forthcoming motion and process of impeachment.

However, it is understood it was not the hoped-for reply and did not meet what Government officials would view as an engagement or response to the procedures outlined.

Nonetheless, this has not altered the Government’s plans to remove the judge from office; emergency laws were passed this week to facilitate his impeachment.
