IRELAND exported over €26 billion in military-related products to dozens of countries since 1997, the latest figures reveal.

End-of-year figures from the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment reveal that last year Irish companies profited by €26.7m in direct military sales, made up of 60 separate consignments.

However, that figure rises significantly when dual-use exports - items deemed to have a potential military use - are included.
