Ryanair to charge passengers up to €7 per bag

BUDGET airline Ryanair is to charge passengers up to €7 for checking in baggage in an effort to cut airport handling costs, it was announced yesterday.

The Irish carrier said people with luggage will have to pay a €7 fee per case from March 16 if they turn up at an airport to check in luggage. The charge falls to €3.50 per case for passengers who book in advance on the airline’s website.

Passengers carrying hand luggage will also be able to check in online and bypass queues by printing their boarding cards in advance.
