GOLDEN Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers is set to get a hero’s welcome when he returns to his native city of Cork a week from today - when he will also renew his Irish passport.

The 28-year-old actor last week scooped a prestigious Golden Globe award in Hollywood for his portrayal of Elvis Presley on American TV.

Now the globe-trotting Corkman is set to return home on January 30 for a civic reception, his mother’s birthday, and to renew his passport in the city.
