Electorate not conned, says defiant Taoiseach

THE Taoiseach denied yesterday he had conned the public in the general election as he defended the Government’s record after a year in its second term in office.

The publication by the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste of a report on the Government's achievements in the past year was lashed by opposition parties.

The Government had spectacularly failed in a number of areas to honour their election promises, the opposition said.
