British doctor’s murder trial ‘should be held here’

THE trial of a British doctor charged with murdering his Irish secretary in Dublin should be held in Ireland, it was claimed yesterday.

The case will make legal history as it will be the first time a person will be tried in a British court for a crime in Ireland.

The Labour Party believes the accused should have been extradited to Ireland as travelling to the Old Bailey will cause further distress to the victim’s family.
