Major cannabis seizure 'a serious blow' to drugs gang
The drugs seizure was worth an estimated €3.5m and was made during a joint swoop by the National Drugs Unit and the Customs National Drugs team.
The 500 kilogrammes of cannabis resin was hidden in pallets of photocopying paper and was first discovered by customs officers.
The Garda National Drugs Unit followed the haul to a warehouse in the Swords area.

No arrests were made following the haul and gardaí are still investigating the matter.

Both men were detained under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act, in Blanchardstown Garda Station last night.
Gardaí also seized €20,000 worth of heroin in a search of a flat in Clanbrassil Street.
Some €2,000 in cash and other drug-related items were also found during the operation.
