Mallow couple claim lotto €4.2m prize

A MARRIED couple from North Cork visited National Lottery headquarters yesterday to pick up €4,283,632 - the biggest lotto win so far this year.

Meanwhile, another couple from the Ballincollig area were also celebrating yesterday after scooping €300,000 in a Lotto Plus draw.

The Mallow millionaires told Lotto officials that they intend to splash out on a holiday with their children and invest the rest.

The couple, who don’t wish to be named, said despite the huge win they intend to continue their life as normally as possible.

“We have lovely neighbours and are very happy where we live, so we’re not thinking about any changes there,” they said.

They purchased their ticket in Katie’s Newsagents, Bank Place, Mallow on March 15, the day of the draw.

Yesterday another couple collected the top prize of €300,000 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw of March 8. The delighted couple, who also want to remain anonymous, bought the lucky Quick Pick ticket in Dunnes Stores, Ballincollig, Co Cork.
